At the final event of the ELECTRA IRP project on 21-22 February 2018, ERIGrid was presented by the project coordinator Thomas Strasser.

Panel discussion on the future of ELECTRA’s Web-of-Cell concept at the final event in Milan (IT)

The event took place in Milan (IT) and gathered over 60 stakeholders to communicate project outcomes on the Web of Cells (WoC) concept and its validation to the smart grid community.

During the roundtable discussion “The way forward: WoC impact on grid evolution”, Th. Strasser addressed the topics of ever increasing complexity of power systems and the corresponding research needs in his ERIGrid presentation “Towards Integrated Power System Testing”.

The cooperation between ERIGrid and ELECTRA IRP was highlighted with regards to holistic power system validation as the WoC approach and similar concepts can be validated using the procedures developed in ERIGrid.

Another key link between both projects is the Database of DER and Smart Grid Research Infrastructure, which was developed with ELECTRA IRP support and used extensively by users of ERIGrid Transnational Access.
