Thomas Strasser, ERIGrid coordinator, has recently discussed the project ambitions in an interview to the Impact magazine.
The interview provides an insight into the impact ERIGrid makes in terms of integration and enhancement of the necessary research services for analysing, validating and testing smart grid configurations and solutions. Also provision of free access to major European research centres with outstanding smart grid research infrastructures is another highlighted topic of the article.
Previous and ongoing research activities have mainly focused on validating certain aspects of smart grids, but until now there has been no integrated approach for analysing and evaluating complex configurations and advanced solutions in cyber-physical energy systems, which is what the ERIGrid project aims to do.
